Solution

So now that the bullhorn has taken off, what do we do with it? How do we act on it? In some cases we purchase a car with more knowledge, or we find out that Aunt Lilly doesn’t like getting her hands dirty in pea patches, but she sure loves building a virtual FARM and telling 30 million people about it! Either way, being able to act on the information long before the data is formulated into a report is vital to any company’s success. Knowing at any given moment what the top likes, dislikes, hot topics and product desires are not only drive a brand to success, it can help maintain manageable product inventories, drive sales projections, and even influence a customized brand campaign or product design. Social BI is a simple solution to keeping a pulse on your brand. Extended Results can help in:

3 Easy Steps

  1. DEFINE REQUIRMENTS & GRAB THE DATA
    • Determine the most important keywords, phrases, and/or metrics you prefer that are relevant to your business objectives that you want to track. Utilize our tool to continuously pull from all the major social media locations pulling rich subsets of conversations that then post to a SQL database.
  2. OUTLINE DESIRED REPORTING OBJECTIVES & DATA MINE FOR INSIGHTS
    • Once you start capturing the data, it is simple to write queries to summarize the results into user rich summary tables. You don’t need to be a SQL developer to write complex scripts, a business user can easily utilize MS Access.
    • Once the summary tables are complete, we create a data web service using Windows Server 2008 R2 and Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 (C#). We also creat a set of web service methods that our Silverlight client could call in order to its data.
  3. BUILD & LEVERAGE A VISUALLY RICH DISPLAY
    • We use Microsoft Silverlight for many of our business intelligence projects because we can provide deeper insights with graphical representations of the data. We use Microsoft Expressions Blend to build out our graphical objects and then pass the XAML to the C#/Silverlight developers to create specific report views below.
